И хотя Kane & Lynch 2 была анонсирована еще в конце 2008 года, разработчики по-прежнему не раскрывают всех деталей грядущей игры, лишь изредка подбрасывая общественности новые порции фактов. Разработчики уже не раз отзывались об игре как о чем-то новом для все индустрии — видимо, это означает невероятную степень кинематографичности, ведь игра создается на основе ряда документальных картин. Действие на сей раз развернется на просторах Шангая, где Кейну (Kane) придется перестрелять сотню-другую тамошних мафиози. Линч (Lynch) по непонятным пока что причинам теперь будет доступен только в режиме кооперативного прохождения.
Уровень жестокости обещает затмить все ранее виденное нами в играх — учитывая степень реализма картинки, начинаешь опасаться того, как бы игру вообще не запретили к продаже. Что касается геймплея, то нас встретит ряд изменений. Экшен станет более динамичным — подолгу отсиживаться в укрытиях теперь не представится возможным, поскольку большинство декораций можно будет разрушить. Игроки также смогут восстанавливать здоровье, затаившись в темном углу, либо атаковать врагов в безжизненном состоянии на манер Left 4 Dead.
